Parenting is tough these days

The latest news that's catching the nations attention is how a parent reported on a teacher who cut her son's hair in school because it's too long. Everyone is criticising the parents.

I look at my baby & was thinking will I become like that? An over protective parent ? I hope not. Families used to be big in the past. People have 5 kids easy & 7-8 is not uncommon at all. Back then parents do not have the luxury of spending too much time with the kids. Kids were left mostly on their own. Parents let the school have lots of freedom in disciplining the kids. Teachers had an easier time then. Parents respected the teachers & school.
These days, many parents have higher education than some teachers , many earn more too. Therefore there is a sense of " are you qualify to take care of my precious kid" syndrome. Well Am I worrying too much,  mine is just an infant now! But kids grow fast, in no time it might be my problem. I might have my own little fights with my kid's teachers....lol....
But I promise I'll try....to be nice. Rather I wont be an over protective parent. My hubby laughed when I announced that! Why is it so difficult to believe?

    1. We often over compensate for not being there enough etc... that's a mistake!

  3. Me & hubby make sure we "behave' when she's around. We are very careful of what we say, kids pick that up. I try not to complain or criticize anything (though I'm dying to sometimes...lol...). That is so that she will not pick that up from us.
